WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.
Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. item upgrading can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. upgrade item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in every major city, and is accessible at any time to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are useful items that are used to improve the quality of weapons, tools, armor, and other accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool with an button, which displays an image of the item at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For instance weapons cost more than bracers, or gloves. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.
Many locations have upgraders for their items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.
In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades require a variety of means that are both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and some new features added. After an upgrade has been completed to a certain item level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level will cost less. This is true even if those items are from a different set of equipment.
The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is reduced also, but is only available once certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
When upgrading equipment in WoW players have a variety of options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized and are utilized during specific level upgrades for items. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that crests are only available for gear with a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. item upgrading and simplest upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, based on the type of equipment that is being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by finishing content at the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses to obtain endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the item such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece of equipment has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer) it no longer requires Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
Another significant modification is that crests have one usage, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best gear you have available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with high-quality gear.
